Jessie Blair left New Zealand's shores in August 1899 for Poona, India, arriving in October. She worked as a missionary for the Zenana Bible Mission, spending some months at Mahabeleshwar, and dying in Poona a year later in 1900 of Typhoid. This blog is about a journey to 'find' Jessie.

Link to the monthly newsletter of the PIVM "White Already to Harvest" on SIM website
The name of the newsletter comes from John 4:35 in the King James version of the bible:
"Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest."

Then click on "CIGM PIVM ICF 1892-1989", and then on "Already White to Harvest PIVM". These newsletters give a fascinating insight into happenings at PIVM and many detailed stories of how they helped various people, along with bible teaching, notes from the various mission stations, contributions from the various missionaries, deaths, a children's page and pictures. The pictures in the issues around 1900 of famine victims are particularly heartbreaking.
